Welcome to the new and improved Portrait of Central Illinois website! We have updated our website to bring you more and better information. Our new website now brings better descriptions, bigger pictures, addresses, maps, hours of operation, and more. As we continue to update the new website more information will become availble. The new website has a theme after earth and sky tones, compared to the boring black and greens with our old layout.
We currently have indexed 23 places in 5 counties. Click the places button above to see what places we've indexed in Central Illinois. If we haven't been to somewhere you would like us to see, then visit the Support Center above and request a place for us to see and index into our website.
The Portrait of Central Illinois is a family oriented website and project and will not index places that are not family oriented. Our mission is to "Bring Out the Best in Central Illinois," this means that we will show families and travelers the best places to see in Central Illinois, without the worry of their children seeing something that is inappropiate for them. If you believe we have not held up to this promise feel free to contact us immediately and tell us what you feel is not right.
We will be starting some new features in the spring/summer of 2010. One will be where will have a list of events, that are going on in and around Central Illinois to see as well as the places we have indexed. Please check back often as we add more information about this feature, and see how send us events that you know about. Once we complete this feature there will be a Events button above to see a list of events we have, and link to add your events. The other feature will be polls about places and and our website.
